Shafique Virani, M.D.

Shafique Virani, M.D., is chief executive officer for Navire Therapeutics and CEO-in-Residence at BridgeBio Pharma. Dr. Virani brings 13 years of experience in big pharma, and helped build an industry leading portfolio in neuroscience and ophthalmology at Roche through academic collaborations, licensing and acquisitions. He joined Roche in 2004 and held various roles within medical affairs, marketing and business development in the U.K., USA and Switzerland until 2012, when he transitioned to the San Francisco Bay area. Dr. Virani is trained as a neurosurgeon in Cambridge, U.K., and Boston, and holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, in addition to an M.D. from the University of Nottingham.
